SortWerk

Terms and conditions

Last updated: 18 October 2026. This is a translation; if the two versions differ, the German version prevails.

1. Scope

These terms govern the use of SortWerk, a service of Manuel Graf, GRAFWERK, Neuhausen am Rheinfall, Switzerland («Grafwerk»). By signing in, you accept these terms. Anyone using SortWerk for a business confirms that they are authorised to do so.

2. Service

SortWerk sorts the emails of a connected Gmail account into labels you define, using the Jev model of TypeSafe AI, on request continuously for new emails and once for existing emails. SortWerk sets and removes labels and, on request, can take sorted emails out of the inbox. SortWerk does not delete or send emails. On request, it moves emails recognised as spam to the Gmail spam folder, which Gmail empties after 30 days. For this, SortWerk keeps a list of spam senders: entries you make, senders you report as spam in Gmail and, once, as soon as you switch on ongoing sorting, the senders of the emails in your Gmail spam folder, as far as they do not appear anywhere else in your mailbox. You can change the list at any time in the settings; «Not spam» brings back a sender's emails.

3. No guarantee of sorting

Sorting is based on probabilities and can be wrong. Grafwerk does not guarantee that every email ends up in the right label. SortWerk puts emails below the confidence threshold you set into a separate review folder. You remain responsible for noticing important emails, deadlines and appointments yourself.

4. Modes and prices

The operating mode depends on the chosen plan: with SortWerk's key (costs included in the subscription, monthly quota; this also applies to the free plan Free) or with your own Jev key (BYOK, costs paid directly to TypeSafe). In all plans, when ongoing sorting is switched on, SortWerk checks roughly every minute whether new emails have arrived and then sorts them. No particular response time is guaranteed; it also depends on Gmail and Jev.

The prices and quotas shown in the price overview on sortwerk.ch at the time of purchase apply: Free at no cost with 50 emails per month, BYOK 6, Pro 12 and Team 29 per month; for yearly plans ten times the monthly price. During the test phase (until version 1.0), Grafwerk grants a 50 % discount on the BYOK, Pro and Team plans for subscriptions taken out during that time; additional addresses are excluded. With version 1.0 the discount also ends for these subscriptions: Grafwerk announces this by email at least 30 days in advance, after which the full price applies from the next billing period. Further Gmail addresses can be connected to a BYOK, Pro or Team subscription (with BYOK and Pro up to four, at most five in total; with Team without limit), for 2 per address and month or 20 per year, with Team from the 15th further address 1 per address and month or 10 per year; they run in the same subscription, receive its plan and share its quota, which grows by half for each further address. Anyone connecting an address must be entitled to use the corresponding Google account. If the address already has its own SortWerk account, it is merged only after your explicit confirmation; its settings are kept. SortWerk then cancels any own subscription of that address at the end of the paid term; amounts already paid are not refunded. The amounts apply equally in Swiss francs, euros and US dollars, each including the VAT or sales tax applicable in the customer's country. Link charges in Swiss francs in Switzerland, in euros in the euro area and in US dollars in the USA; in other countries Stripe converts the Swiss franc amount into the local currency at the day's rate.

Paid subscriptions are sold through Link, a service of the Stripe group («Managed Payments»). Link is the seller (merchant of record): you conclude the purchase contract for the subscription with Link or the responsible Stripe company; their terms apply in addition. Link calculates and remits the taxes, issues receipts and invoices, and handles questions about payments, refunds and statutory rights of withdrawal. These terms govern the use of SortWerk itself.

Paid subscriptions are charged in advance for the chosen term (month or year) through Link and renew automatically for the same term until you cancel. A change of plan takes effect immediately and is billed pro rata, as is adding or removing further addresses. If the subscription ends, further addresses are paused until there is a paid subscription again. Unused quota expires at the end of the month. If a payment cannot be charged, Stripe tries again; if it still fails, the subscription ends and the Free plan applies. Grafwerk announces price changes at least 30 days in advance by email; they apply from the next term.

5. User obligations

You only connect accounts you are entitled to use. For Google Workspace accounts, you obtain the necessary consent of your administrator. Your own Jev key must belong to you; you bear its costs yourself.

6. Availability

Grafwerk operates SortWerk with reasonable care but does not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Outages at Google or TypeSafe can delay sorting.

For sorting, SortWerk uses the Jev model of Typesafe AI, Inc. (USA). Grafwerk has no influence on how TypeSafe processes the transmitted information; TypeSafe's terms and privacy policy apply to that. By consenting to the sharing with Jev, which SortWerk obtains before the first sorting, you acknowledge this. To the extent permitted by law, Grafwerk is not liable for acts and omissions of TypeSafe. With your own Jev key (BYOK), you conclude the contract with TypeSafe yourself.

7. Liability

Grafwerk is liable without limitation for damage it causes intentionally or through gross negligence. Liability for slight negligence, consequential damage and lost profit is excluded to the extent permitted by law; for paid subscriptions it is in any case limited to the amounts paid in the last twelve months. Mandatory statutory liability, for example for personal injury, remains reserved.

Grafwerk may block an account if SortWerk is misused, for example for other people's accounts without authorisation or to circumvent quotas. Grafwerk may change or discontinue the free plan Free; this is announced at least 30 days in advance.

8. Cancellation and deletion

You can cancel a paid subscription at any time in the dashboard under «Subscription» → «Manage subscription» or at Link (link.com), effective at the end of the paid term. Until then the plan stays active; afterwards the Free plan applies. Terms already paid are not refunded unless a statutory right of withdrawal applies.

You can end SortWerk completely at any time by deleting your account in the settings. Cancel any running subscription beforehand as described above; it then ends at the end of the paid term. Gmail access is revoked, your data is deleted and, on request, SortWerk's labels are removed. Deleting the main account also deletes all further addresses connected to it; you remove a single further address in the dashboard under «Subscription».

9. Privacy and changes

The privacy policy applies. Grafwerk announces changes to these terms at least 30 days in advance by email. If you continue to use SortWerk afterwards, the new terms apply; if you do not agree, you can cancel your subscription and delete your account before then.

10. Law and jurisdiction

Swiss law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. The place of jurisdiction is Schaffhausen. For consumers, the place of jurisdiction at their place of residence and the mandatory consumer protection provisions of the country in which they live also apply.
